The audit trail
The workspace-wide record of who did what and when, and how long it is kept.
1 min read
The audit trail — also reachable as History — is the workspace-wide record of activity. Where an item's own History tab covers that one record, the audit trail covers everything: items created and deleted, members invited and removed, roles changed, share links created and revoked, settings altered, sign-ins.
Reading it
Entries are listed newest first, each showing who acted, what they did, on what, and when. Filter and search to narrow it to a person, a kind of action or a period.
How long entries are kept
| Plan | Retention |
|---|---|
| Free | Not included |
| Starter | Not included |
| Collector | 30 days |
| Pro | 90 days |
| Business | 365 days |
| Ultimate | Unlimited |
Tip
In a shared workspace, the audit trail is the first place to look when something has changed and nobody knows why. It usually turns an argument into a two-minute answer.
