iPhone, iPad and Android

Installing the apps, signing in, and the things a phone does better than a browser.

2 min read

ELVOAQ has native apps for iPhone and iPad and for Android. They are the same account and the same data as the web app — anything you add on one appears on the others.

Installing

  1. 1Search for ELVOAQ in the App Store or on Google Play, or follow the download links on elvoaq.com.
  2. 2Install and open the app.
  3. 3Sign in with your email address and password, or with Google or Apple.
  4. 4Enter your two-factor code if you have 2FA switched on.

What the phone does better

The camera
Photographing an item straight into its record, with no transfer from a camera roll in between. This alone is why most cataloguing happens on a phone.
Barcode scanning
The camera reads a code and looks the product up.
Voice memos
A spoken note is quicker than typing while your hands are full.
Push notifications
Offers, comments and reminders reach you without the app being open.
Being there
You catalogue where the objects are — the attic, the warehouse, the auction — not back at a desk.

Language and appearance

The apps carry their own language picker with the same four languages, and their own light/dark/system setting. Changing the language in the app also lines up the strings the operating system draws, so nothing is left in the wrong language.

Push notifications

  1. 1Allow notifications when the app asks on first launch. If you refused, allow ELVOAQ notifications in the phone's own settings — the app links straight to the right screen.
  2. 2Choose which topics reach you in Settings → Notifications, the same list as on the web.
  3. 3Set quiet hours if you would rather not be woken.

The documentation on mobile

This guide is not bundled inside the apps — it is long, searchable and updated far more often than an app release ships, so a bundled copy would be stale. Settings → Documentation opens it in your browser, already in the language you are using the app in.

Offline

The apps keep a local cache, so what you have already looked at stays readable when the signal does not. Changes need a connection to reach your account.

Note

A handful of specialised screens exist only on the web — the deeper accounting reports and the platform administration tools among them. Everything you do day to day is on all three.
