Share links

Publishing an item or a collection to somebody outside your account, and controlling exactly what they see.

2 min read

A share link shows selected items to somebody who does not have an ELVOAQ account, without giving them access to anything else. Open Sharing in the sidebar; the builder walks through three steps.

Step 1 — choose what to share

A collection
Best for a folder, a project or a grouped set. You can create a collection from inside the builder if the right one does not exist yet.
One or several items
Search your library and tick what belongs on the link. Filter to favourites, or to a category, while you pick.

Note

Locked items are marked as such in the picker. They stay protected.

Step 2 — set access

Public link
Anybody holding the link can open it. Simple, and completely uncontrolled — assume it can be forwarded.
Password protected
A public link that asks for a password first. Send the password by a different channel from the link.
Private invite
Only the ELVOAQ users you name can open it. Search for people by name or email.
Expiring link
A public link that stops working after a date you choose.

What the visitor sees

You choose the fields that appear. By default that is the name, description, images, category and condition — the price is not shared unless you add it. Other options include the location, purchase details, files and the 3D model.

Allow file downloads
Whether the visitor may download attached documents, or only look at them.
Default view
Grid, Rows or Compact — how the page is laid out when it opens.

Important

At least one field must be shared, or the link would show nothing. The builder will not publish until you have picked one.

Step 3 — publish

Press Create share and copy the link. Every active link is listed underneath with its view count.

Copies the URL again.
Edit
Changes the settings of a live link. The URL stays the same, so everybody who already has it is affected immediately — the app warns you before you proceed.
Revoke
Switches the link off. Anybody viewing it loses access at once.
Delete
Removes the link permanently, along with its comments and reactions. This cannot be undone.

Tip

For anything valuable, prefer a password-protected or expiring link over a plain public one. A link that circulates for years is a list of your valuables with a picture of each.
