The library
Views, sorting, custom order, bulk selection and what each control on the toolbar does.
2 min read
Library shows every item in the current workspace. It is the screen you will use most, so it is worth knowing what each control does.
Grid view and list view
The two buttons on the right of the toolbar switch between them. Grid shows a card per item with a large photo — best for things you recognise by sight, like art or watches. List shows a dense row per item with more fields visible at once — best for stock, parts and equipment. The choice is remembered.
Sorting
- Newest first / Oldest first
- By the date the record was created, not the purchase date.
- Name A–Z / Name Z–A
- Alphabetical.
- Highest value / Lowest value
- By purchase price, converted to your display currency.
- Custom order
- Your own arrangement — see below.
Custom order: arranging items by hand
Sometimes no automatic sort is right — a display case has an order, a shelf has an order. Custom order lets you set it.
- 1Set the sort to Custom order.
- 2Press Arrange items. The cards become draggable.
- 3Drag items into the order you want.
- 4The arrangement saves itself as you go; a short confirmation appears when it has.
Note
A custom order is stored per category, so arranging your watches does not disturb the order of your tools. Switching back to Original restores the default sort without discarding your arrangement.
Selecting several items at once
Hold Ctrl (⌘ on a Mac) and click to add items to a selection, or press Ctrl + A to select everything currently shown. With a selection active you can delete, move to a category, or add to a collection in one action.
Important
Bulk delete moves every selected item to Trash. It is recoverable, but it is still a lot of records at once — read the confirmation before pressing through it.
Moving an item to another category
- 1Open the item's menu (the ⋯ button on its card) and choose Move.
- 2Pick the destination category.
- 3Confirm. The item keeps everything attached to it — only its classification changes.
Locked items
An item can be locked with a PIN, in which case the library shows it as Locked and hides its details until the PIN is entered. See Locking an item.
